Pavel Perina has joined the ranks of mature performing artists with a broad repertoire. He is a graduate of the
Ostrava Conservatory where he studied with Prof. M. Nemec and of the Academy of Performing Arts in
Prague where he worked under the guidance of Prof. Skampa and Prof. Motlik. In 1975 he won First Prize
and the title of Laureate in the Ministry of Culture's performance contest in Hradec nad Moravici.
After completing his studies he was for several years a member of the Suk Chamber Orchestra and the
New Chamber Orchestra, and he has played as a guest with additional chamber ensembles including Musici
di Praga, Musica da camera Praga, Ars rediviva, and others. He has also served as a teacher. He is
a founding member of the international ensemble of chamber players titled East/West under the
patronage of UNESCO, with which he has given concerts and participated in musical seminars abroad.
At the present time he is viola section leader in the Prague Symphony Orchestra and a founding member
and artistic director of the Prague Symphony Chamber Orchestra.
