Jiri Hurnik (born 1961) graduated from Prague Conservatory (with Prof. V. Krucek) and Academy of Performing
Arts in Prague (with Prof. V. Snitil). He has been awarded at international competitions in Zagreb
(1985), in Prague (Prague Spring Festival, 1987) and in Preatoria (1992). Since the year 1988, he is
a Concert Master of the Prague Symphony Orchestra. In the years 1994 - 2000 he applied oneself
entirely to his career as a soloist and a chamber player of ensembles Dvořák Piano Trio,
Prague String Trio and Czech Nonet. He performed at home and abroad and recorded many CDs with
contemporary music.
